Burning For A Fight | Cloud and Faris
Faris wrinkled her nose when the blonde ignored her outstretched hand. Rude. But he seemed content to the truce and walked a few paces away. Faris kicked some sand up, feeling abashed at his first question.
“No, it’s fine, you should get an explanation,” she scratched the back of her neck self-consciously, “I had a rough night, lot on my mind. I guess your attack just set it all off. I was angry,” she hesitated then added, “Sorry I took it out on you. But at least you did manage to figure out that spell attack.”
She was glad when he cast Water and put the flames out; the heat had been getting to her. “Yup, I’m a Commando. And you must be a Ravager.” She eyed the water coming from his spell in the sky, not minding that it was getting her a little wet.
He seemed lost in thought, and when he introduced himself it was like he had only just remembered she was there.
“Cloud, huh? Kind’ve a weird name, but a lot of the people around here have unusual names,” Faris sat down next to him, setting the Brave Blade down on the sand beside her, in case he felt the need to continue their fight.
“Name’s Faris Scherwiz. And while we’re on the subject, why didn’t you stop fighting then?”
“So I made your day worse?” Cloud asked feeling a bit of guilt. He knew that feeling of every minute of the day getting worse due to other’s actions, and other times he was the one to blame for his own bad days. Faris? hmmm that’s odd, he thought while looking at the other for a few seconds.
He then began wondering about his question being asked to him this time, Why didn’t I stop? Well that is a pretty interesting thing now that I think about it, he said in his head. Cloud then looked to the ground and began to think of a proper answer for Faris.
I have many reasons why I didn’t stop fighting back, some of them can’t be justified and some of them are just plain childish, I was basically defending myself, I had no idea he was eventually going to ask for a truce, especially with the strength behind those attacks, he said to himself. Cloud then raised his head and looked at the other, he got up and put his hands behind his head and looking at the sky, he was ready to answer.
“There are a couple of reasons why i didn’t stop attacking, my first attempt to stop fighting didn’t stop you, but I think I may know why, I also have had things bothering me lately too maybe not as bad as you but still, your attacks were something that I couldn’t underestimate which meant I had to defend myself somehow, and………. I was enjoying the fight for a while” he explained fully. Cloud then turned around to face Faris and chuckled at the idea of enjoying a harsh fight.
The fight was sort of a like a sparring session and this guy “Faris” was an excellent partner, he believed that there was probably more to this warrior that he hasn’t seen or wasn’t revealed in their fight. “By the way, yes, I did get to actually cast that spell, it wasn’t done well, but that’s the closest I believe I can get to it today” he explained to the warrior. “You have an interesting way of fighting” he added, “the way you were in control of the fight while in water wasn’t because of my lack of guarding am I correct? You fight as well in water as you do on land” he asked the other with a smirk.
